What Is Cannabis Unity?
Cannabis Unity is a nonpartisan, multi-stakeholder coalition of patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals, advocates, business owners, researchers, faith leaders, and community members united around a shared commitment to evidence-based cannabis policy reform in Georgia.
Cannabis Unity does not endorse candidates, political parties, or specific legislation. It exists to build a broad, informed, and civically engaged community that can participate meaningfully in Georgia's policy process — regardless of political affiliation.

To educate, connect, and empower Georgians to engage in evidence-based cannabis policy reform through nonpartisan civic participation, coalition building, and public advocacy.

About Georgia Medical Cannabis Society, Inc.
The Georgia Medical Cannabis Society, Inc. (GMCS) is the legal nonprofit founding convener and financial administrator of Cannabis Unity and Cannabis Unity Day: Georgia Speaks. GMCS was established to provide organizational infrastructure, legal accountability, and financial stewardship for the Cannabis Unity coalition and its annual event.
GMCS does not speak for the coalition as a whole. It serves as the administrative backbone — handling registrations, vendor contracts, financial reporting, and legal compliance — so that Cannabis Unity can remain a broad, community-led coalition rather than a single-organization effort.
Cannabis Unity Day: Georgia Speaks is a coalition event. GMCS provides organizational and financial infrastructure; it does not control the coalition's positions, speakers, or programming decisions.

Our Nonpartisan Commitment
Cannabis Unity Day: Georgia Speaks is explicitly nonpartisan. We do not endorse candidates, political parties, ballot initiatives, or specific pieces of legislation. We do not invite elected officials to speak in their official capacity as elected officials.

- No partisan political messaging or imagery.
- Elected officials may attend as private citizens, not as featured speakers.
- All programming is reviewed for balance and nonpartisan framing.
- Sponsors and partners are vetted to ensure no partisan conflicts.
We believe that meaningful cannabis policy reform in Georgia requires support from across the political spectrum. Our goal is to build the broadest possible coalition — one that can sustain progress regardless of which party holds power.
The Movement
What Unites Us
We do not have to agree on everything to stand together for progress. Cannabis Unity creates space for independent voices with different missions, experiences, and policy priorities to work together where common ground exists.
Access and Justice Belong Together
Patients deserve safe, fair, affordable, and informed access to cannabis care. And the people, families, and communities harmed by prohibition deserve meaningful relief — decriminalization, record relief, reentry support, and community healing. These conversations cannot be separated.
Health and Freedom Belong Together
Cannabis policy is healthcare policy. It is also civil-liberties policy. Patients, caregivers, physicians, and public-health professionals must have a voice — and so must people facing employment, housing, probation, and family consequences tied to cannabis laws.
Research and Lived Experience Belong Together
Policy should be informed by science, clinical evidence, and public-health data. It should also be informed by the lived experiences of patients, caregivers, justice-impacted people, and communities most affected by these laws. Both matter.
Hemp, Medical Cannabis, and Adult-Use Reform Belong Together
The full cannabis conversation includes medical cannabis access, hemp policy, adult-use reform, economic opportunity, workforce development, and small-business survival. Farmers, manufacturers, entrepreneurs, and communities all have a stake in responsible reform.

Participating organizations retain their independent identities and policy positions. Participation does not mean endorsement of every policy, bill, speaker, sponsor, partner, or activity. Many voices. Shared purpose. Real progress.
